Warming up before the game: Spend some time practicing and reducing the risk of injury

It is necessary to warm up before engaging in any sport, from golf to tennis, running to basketball. Warming up improves performance, reduces muscle tension, enhances range of motion, and helps decrease the risk of injury. However, many people underestimate the importance of a proper warm-up.

When preparing for physical activity, it is important to consider various factors such as training level, age, temperature, and motor skills. The higher the level of golf play, the longer the warm-up should be.

For professionals, before playing on the golf course, the warm-up should last about an hour. As we age, we should allocate more time for warming up and do it slowly and carefully, especially if we have orthopedic or rheumatic issues.

Furthermore, our motor skills are not consistent throughout the day, so we should pay greater attention to warming up in the morning compared to noon. Lower temperatures also require longer warm-up times and more precise execution.

It is important to remember that rushing through the warm-up can unnecessarily strain your cardiovascular system and muscles. If you have time for a four-hour round, don't skimp on warming up by cutting 20 minutes. Devoting time to a proper warm-up will help increase performance and reduce the risk of injury.
